Clearly doing something wrong

Hello! I’m clearly doing something wrong. My Bromelaid hasn’t bloomed in a couple years (maybe that’s normal?) and it looks burned? I’m confused because it gets only 1-3hrs of direct sunlight a day. The rest is indirect as it’s by a west facing window.

Beware of direct sun. It appears to be sunburned. Just move it a little further back from the window. If that damaged leaf bothers you just remove it.

What kind of water are you using? Mine only liked distilled. I would do indirect light.

@BeeBalm that’s a good point. It’s near a west facing window and we have tons of trees, so the direct light is maybe an hour only.

@KaylieS I’m using tap water. Maybe I need to try distilled! Thank you.
