Black spot on stem on peace lily
Hi I need your advice on black spots on only one leave and the same stem part of the plant. All other leaves are fine.
How to check? @SpikeKing19
@StellarCapealoe Hello and welcome to Greg, Karthik!
You can check the soil by sticking your index finger into the soil to the second knuckle, if itโs feels too damp donโt water it and hit the snooze button (it will bring your plant back up again in 3 days to water again), but if itโs dry water it. I have had to snooze mine on my last watering. Since it is winter here I find myself snoozing my plants more often than not.

@KikiGoldblatt thanks soil is not so wet but I can feel the light moist when inserting the finger. I water once in 2 weeks because it is winter. I donโt know if that because of aging. Should I cut that stem and use any fungicide?
@StellarCapealoe I would cut the dead looking stems off by using rubbing alcohol to sterilize the pruners or scissors. That will put energy back into your plant on producing new leaves. I have had to cut several stalks off due to them turning brown. Donโt worry your peace lily will love you for it. Mine has produced new leaves over the past few months. I wouldnโt use fungicide on it because it not a big issue. Itโs just an overwatering issue.
@StellarCapealoe you are so very welcome! ๐๐๐๐

Peace Lily Watering Tips Tap water is fine for watering peace lilies, but letting the water sit out for a day or two allows fluoride and other harmful chemicals to dissipate. If water runs straight through the pot, it may mean the plant is badly root bound. If this is the case, repot your peace lily as soon as possible. If you forget to water your peace lily for an extended time, the edges of the leaves may turn yellow. If this happens, water the plant well, then clip off the yellowing foliage. Your plant should soon be good as new.
