Is my cilantro dying?

Ok so, my cilantro was looking very very sick, so I pulled him out to wash off and check his roots but then I realized Iโ€™m not entirely sure what healthy vs unhealthy roots look like so I could use some help,
And if these look bad is he saveable

Hi! In general roots should be between white and light brown in color; no bad smell like sewage; and they shouldnโ€™t be mushy to the touch. It looks like this one was overwatered. Cilantro like to get really dry in between so Iโ€™d water it a lot less frequently next time, and/or keep it in a really sunny place.
@Jigsaw_Puzzle Ok so the deal with cilantro is that the only time that you can really transplant them is when they're young. Once they are developed they don't like to be pulled up or moved. So unfortunately it doesn't matter what the roots look like at this point the plant is pretty much gone. It's best to plant them from seed wherever you are going to leave them. The good thing is you learned something about not over watering them and fortunately they grow fast.
