Droopy, Yellow Leaves
#Aglaonema My plant has droopy, yellow leaves that are sort of squishy, seen in the picture. The leaves has been peeling off one by one, and Iβm not sure what Iβm doing wrong π₯Ί Itβs being watered from the bottom up over night - only when the soil is completely dried up between each round. Help, anyone? β¨π«Ά

When leaves are squishy its tends to be either overwatering or mold. Since you arenβt overwatering, theres a chance that your plants roots are already rotted and thus showing overwatering effects.. you may want to check the roots for any that are squishy, dark in color, or have a smell. As for mold on the leaves it is unlikely without high humidity or low light and you would probably be able to see it (happens in my terrarium all of the time π) hopefully you can get to the bottom of this because it sounds like youβre doing everything right to me.. π€·ββοΈ
Agree with @Uzi to check roots. Sounds like the soil is retaining too much moisture. Your plant has gotten smaller with leaf loss, so not as many leaves means less processing of water which can mean pooling of water in the soil at the bottom of pot. After you check the roots consider repotting in a smaller container, 6β might be too big for Pinky now. And Iβd try to get her closer to a light source, 7ft typically is too far away. Light is food for plants and necessary for proper processing of water.
@MariansOasis Thank you for the tips! β¨ That makes a lot of sense and could explain why itβs suddenly not able to handle the same watering habits! π¦
@bubus let us know how it goes!! π
@MariansOasis Update: I checked the roots and there was indeed some roots soggy and unhappy, so I removed them and neatly tucked the remaining roots back in their new home β¨ Iβll keep an eye on it for a while, but hopefully that does it for Pinky! π©·
@bubus omg thatβs good you got in there and discovered the root issue π. Fingers crossed π€ thatβs all Pinky needed!! π€
