What’s a good slow release fertilizer for indoor plants?

Also, would mixing it in with my soil be best or could I just put it on top and top water my plants?
I don't use slow release, but I will say top watering is almost never the right answer. Over time it will compact your soil and have negative effects on your plant's growth. When possible, it's always best to bottom water. (Some plants are simply too big to make this feasible tho.)
I personally use liquid fert. #foxfarmgrowbig) I use it at 25 to 50 % strength depending on the time of year and I use it every time I water...
I use Osmocote fertilizer granules on both inside and outside plants and swear by it. I sprinkle it on top of my houseplant’s soil and top water them to gradually release the fertilizer; it is timed release. We mix it in the soil of outdoor plants by rotitilling before I plant them in the spring. I use it only once or twice a year with houseplants, once in the spring for sure. Make sure you don’t use too much. I get this at my local nursery and was originally recommended by my neighbor who was exceedingly fastidious with his plants.
