@BananaMan Hi Hunter, The reason could be a number of factors. Banana trees thrive in tropical warm, humid conditions. Make sure that it's not in a draft of the AC or heater. Heaters in the winter have a tendency of drying out the air. Consider getting a humidifier to combat that. Also make sure the top inch of soil is dry before you water. Roots need airflow and if they're not given the chance to breathe without wet soil basically suffocating them it will cause root rot therefore turning the leaves yellow then brown. Even if the app says it's time to water always check with your plant first to make sure it's ready for a drink. Try these things and see if that helps.
@princesspitstop I only water it when the soil is dry. The room I keep it in has a fan but the humidity is usually around 45-50% is this enough or should I still get a humidifier?
@BananaMan Ideally it would be 50-70%.I would look into getting one in that case.
@princesspitstop okay, thanks! I have one in my house already just one more question, where should I put the humidifier? Should I place it right next to the plant or should I distance it a little?
@BananaMan 2-3ft away if it's too close there's a chance too much water would condense on the leaves and soil inviting pest and causing mold.
