Underwatering? New growth?

@SirLiquorice…. I’ve been struggling with this guy. I go atleast 2wks between watering. He came from Lowe’s or HD so I got him out of that peat and into a terracotta pot with a mix of succulent soil and bonsai jack grotty mix. More soil than gritty. When I do water I let him bottom water until the entire pot has soaked up water. He’s in a south window. Am I underwatering him? Or is that brown old growth? Still trying to find my balance with some of these cacti. Thanks!
0ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage

Showing definite signs of dehydration. Maybe only go one week between watering
Yeah it’s being under watered
It may be due to the super hot weather we have been having everywhere. I have some trying to shrivel up.
I have two tricodemia and they both need water more often inside or outside
Thanks @SirLiquorice always saving me with my succs and cacti.
You’ll love these. Have you seen what the flowers look like and what older specimens look like?
@SirLiquorice no! I just happened to see him and liked his mini stature and he got me good with a spike at the store so I brought him home 🤣 it was my first cacti poke so I couldn’t just leave him there hahaha
