Sometimes they start growing a new little plant in the pot, which is easy to move out. Otherwise, cut the stem in half ensuring you have leaves on both parts. Strip the bottom leaves off the part you cut off and root it in water (no leaves below the water surface. When roots get to be a couple inches long you can move it to new substrate.
