#NewPlantMom what kind of clean products do y’all use for your plants as preventative for bugs and such? I saw one called plantista plant spray .. but weighing options. I do have neem oil
@Crys_lynn Besides my regular sprays with plain water (dusts leaves, can get rid of bugs trying to gain a foothold), I only use pure neem oil.

-1 Tablespoon pure neem oil mixed with
-4 cups (32oz) water

You have to mix it up fresh every time for it to be effective. This is why so many store bought sprays are useless.
@DreamMachine awesome. Thank you !
@Crys_lynn my pleasure! The only other plant care product I buy, besides fertilizer, is plain or peppermint Castile soap. It’s the only plant safe soap, and I will mix that into my neem oil solution for when I’m dealing with an active pest solution. Then the recipe becomes:

-1 Tb pure neem oil
-1/2 teaspoon Castile
-4 cups of water

But this ☝️ shouldn’t be used for maintenance because if used too often even the gentle Castile soap will dry out your plants’ leaves. So, plain neem and water for maintenance, add Castile only for active pests, or as a once in a while treatment (such as when I first bring a new plant home)

I forgot to mention that neem will make your plants photosensitive for a few days…more able to sunburn, so after a spray it’s important to let them air dry and stay out of the sun for a few days 🤗💛
