What's wrong with the tips of my plant?

Hi, I'm just trying to find help with my waxed agave. The tips seem rotted. I got him two days ago from a nursery and I'm a new plant parent, so just looking for a freind. ( it's also missing a chunk)
0ft to light, indirect
2” pot with drainage
Last watered 2 days ago
Hi there! So I took one of your photos and took it to google, and there’s some good info on it there. I’d type it but it’s a long type so I’ll put photos here of what is said. I hope it helps! It’s a cute little guy!!
@SillyPlantGirl omg thank you!!!!!
@SillyPlantGirl after reading it, I think I need the compass app. I noticed the window isn't north facing, its east!
@SillyPlantGirl even though the rot looking stuff on the tips hasn't been explained yet, I guess the sun problem can be fixed. Thank you so much for helping!
I think East is a good place for it- especially Florida as a lot of plants, can’t take that afternoon heat. My parents used to have a home in Melbourne and she had 2 Christmas Cacti on the pool patio- and they turned red from too much sun. I can’t say much about the tips but my agave had brown hard tips that grew into these huge spikes lol, but it was a different type of agave. Also, that pretty pot it’s in- might not be the best. Agave do well in terracotta or unglazed clay- with gritty soil- it allows the water to dry out better so it’s not sitting in water. ðŸŠī💕
@SillyPlantGirl ohhhhh, I think that make sense. Also, I'll ask my grandma if we can go shopping for a new pot for it. Thanks for the tip!
@SillyPlantGirl also, huge spikes? I just hit the jackpot!!!!
@SillyPlantGirl Christmas cactus is a completely different species that does best in indirect light. These are Echeveria agavoides (wax agave) which definitely need intense direct sun.
@dinosgoroarr I agree with @SillyPlantGirl that it needs to be in a terracotta pot. Glazed clay pots are non-porous so they hold onto moisture a lot longer than terracotta. Also your plant, which is a type of Echeveria often referred to with the common name wax agave, despite not being an actual agave plant, needs lots of direct sunlight. It should be right up against the glass of a west or south-facing window so it can get the 4-6 hours of direct sunlight it needs. Also be careful with watering, the soil should be allowed to completely dry out between waterings to avoid rot.
@stephonicle of course, thanks for the tips. I was also studying about it, so I guess any extra info is fine. Thank you! Also, for your nice tip, here's a free dino fun fact. Did u know triceratops skulls could weigh up to 600 pounds?
Big old head!! I bet all the horns are heavy.
@stephonicle yes I know what plant it is- I was only talking about the harsh heat and sun in Florida. Every succulent I have that it tells me full sun- all but 1 died because the hot afternoon sun and heat where I live is too much. So now I look up plants where people live, if they provide it- and I posted 2 pics of what it said on google.
