What are these burnt tips?

Hey plant buddy’s!πŸ‘‹πŸͺ΄πŸŒ± I’ve had this spider plant for a while now and it keeps on getting these burnt looking tips. I keep cutting them off but then the ones having cut get them. I also just got 7 spiderettes from my friends spider plant!!!πŸ₯³ and even those had some of these dying tips. I cut them off then realized I should ask about them. Is this normal? Should I be cutting them off? What causes it? And do they spread if you don’t cut them?
6ft to light, indirect
5” pot with drainage
Last watered 6 days ago
Try changing your water. Either rain water or distilled. That’s what made things better for me
@GreenPurpose Thank you so much! I’ll try that!
@GreenPurpose should I still cut off the dead ends?
@Plant_Cuddler it’s up to you. I leave mine for a week or so to see the problem is progressing
My experience is my tap water. I started filling gallon plastic jugs with it and let it sit for 24 hours to get rid of the chlorine etc- and my plants are much happier. Spiders love humidity so you might also try misting them, or put a pebble tray under the pot (I use a mister)
@SillyPlantGirl hey! Thanks a lot! I want to make my spiders as happy as possible! I will be doing that!! Do you think rain or distilled water would work the same?
@Plant_Cuddler yes it will. It’s the chemicals in tap that they don’t like. My tap is so strong of chlorine it makes me nauseous- we have to filter our water.
