Humid air. Have you tried a humidifier nearby or grouping it with other plants? The only way I can keep my fern from unaliving itself is to keep it under a cloche.

It also has the added benefit of keeping my cat from eating the leaves, because he loves fern fronds.
@BabyFrogfruit23 Maidenhair ferns are notorious for being difficult indoors. @RootWrangler is right, they love high humidity so a cloche is a great idea, or a tabletop humidifier. Definitely keep away from heating & air conditioning as both dry out the air. I had some success keeping one in a very bright bathroom where the family showered daily. It has LOTS of windows though so don’t try it if the bathroom is kinda low light. Hard water can be rough on maidenhair ferns too so if your water is hard consider watering it down with distilled water, like half tap water half distilled. This keeps some minerals in the water which distilled water is lacking. Plants typically won’t thrive with distilled water and no nutrients added back in.
Thank you both I will try these and see what happens I also just realized I have been over watering my plants I had the wrong size of planters so I'm going to see if this helps also.
