Orchid|Help!!

Hi everyone

So I was gifted 2 orchids a couple weeks ago that werenโ€™t in very good condition. I have been trying my hardest to save them but one of them arenโ€™t doing to well and I have no idea if itโ€™s saveable. Its roots are gross and mushy and turning yellow, the orchid itself stinks, a couple of the leaves are yellow, the stems are like sticks and cut down, and theres white foamy stuff growing on the bottom of the stems. I have no idea what to do to save this orchid. Please help.

That is an overwatering problem. The roots are turning mushy because they are beginning to rot, and the white growth looks like mold to me, also a result of too much moisture.
Here is a video from a channel that is very helpful for orchid care. This video shows how to repot an orchid and remove dead roots: https://youtu.be/cWFyQzJbGDg
Youโ€™re halfway there. Cut of all the gross roots, only keep ones that are healthy. Flower stalks can be clipped down to about 1c/0.5in when theyโ€™re that dead.
After that, you can dunk it in soapy water or even fungicide to clean it up.
I keep mine in leca, but anything really chunky and airy will do. Then just put it in a sunny spot and leave it alone (with water when it dries) for a while. Might get new flowers this year, maybe not till next year.
Tanner the planter is on most social media and heโ€™s amazing at giving advice on orchids but from him Iโ€™ve learned itโ€™s never as bad as it may look when it comes to orchids. They are amazing at pulling through with the proper triage and care. The primary thing to do now is ensure you get rid of anything thatโ€™s rotting and to sterilize.
@malobee its in water๐Ÿฅฒ like its in a vase of water. are you suggesting i change it to something else?
@V1N3C0V3R3D yes absolutely. That is a terrible environment for an epiphytic plant (meaning they grow off of trees and do not have roots encased in soil or water). In the link I posted, there is good information for what to pot an orchid in.
@malobee oh๐Ÿ˜… I was told they thrive better in water
