The tricky balancing act of watering succulents
Does anyone have advice on how to get those leaves on my firestorm succulent nice and plump again, without overwatering? Am I just underwatering? This little girl is on the mend after a rescue, if you couldn't tell, I'm very eager to get her thriving again! Should I just give her a little extra water?

Hi, @UnbiasedTree, try moving it into a smaller pot than itβs now in. That way, any water it gets will be absorbed into the roots and plant rather than spread through the soil. I have a few that are in small pot and when I water, I water with a dunk and allow the pot to sit in 1/4 inch of water for about 5 minutes so water will suck upwards. Then I let the soil dry out again. Succulents love snug pots and itβs okay to give them a little more water with a garden syringe if you see them wrinkling as long as itβs just once and not regularly. One thing I do is take my water hose and spray them all down to a good soak and let them dry off away from direct sunlight. Your wrinkly leaves say you are definitely under watering right now but it sound be that your pot is a touch too big for your roots. Iβd try switching pot size first and then watering it today (just a bit) then letting it get some indirect daylight to help it adjust. I use nursery liner pots so itβs easy to repot and water with those, imo. Good luck! πΏ
This is what it looks like as of today, @RJG! Not much has changed here.
@FitSedum thanks for the advice! I never considered the pot being too big as a problem, I always feel like I'm squishing my plants! It's only a 3 inch pot, I have like a 1.5 inch one I think, would that work?
