@pelssy usually (in my experience) you kinda just β€œsit” or set the pad onto and just a little in the dirt, some people even plant it halfway down the cacti to make sure it takes.. I don’t do prefer to set mine higher so just the bottoms root, and that way, I don’t have to use a larger pot or as much soil.
Prickly pear! Nice snag, love the I wanna say Joseph’s coat?? But if it’s just pads that came it’s not completely uncommon for it to get a little soft at the bottom and grow out but if it’s getting soft and looking right, I’d maybe see if it’s location, these guys can handle the heat! 🌡 they also can handle the sun, they don’t I’ve higher humidity and too much water. I’ve got a few I’m also making roots on, and I’ve just been misting the tops a little to encourage the new roots, but not rot… I hope some of that information can be helpful
@Idplantthat i just got him today!
So they may had them sitting in to β€œstart”, would be my guess.. but how’s the bottom and sides feeling? Do they kinda mushy and sticky at all.
@Idplantthat what do you mean by sitting into start?
@Idplantthat oh okay! i think it’s that
