@pelssy usually (in my experience) you kinda just βsitβ or set the pad onto and just a little in the dirt, some people even plant it halfway down the cacti to make sure it takes.. I donβt do prefer to set mine higher so just the bottoms root, and that way, I donβt have to use a larger pot or as much soil.
Prickly pear! Nice snag, love the I wanna say Josephβs coat?? But if itβs just pads that came itβs not completely uncommon for it to get a little soft at the bottom and grow out but if itβs getting soft and looking right, Iβd maybe see if itβs location, these guys can handle the heat! π΅ they also can handle the sun, they donβt Iβve higher humidity and too much water. Iβve got a few Iβm also making roots on, and Iβve just been misting the tops a little to encourage the new roots, but not rotβ¦ I hope some of that information can be helpful
