Best Way to Water?

It’s weekly watering day for Micah, and there’s nothing wrong with him. I was just wondering about the best way to water him. He has some drainage holes on the bottom, so he’s on one of those little terracotta plant dish thingies. Should I water straight into the potting mix or pour it into the tray and let him soak it up? Which will let him thrive? The pictures in order are the plant himself and his tray, the bottom of his pot, and where he usually sits with my other plants. #HappyPlants #PlantMoms #letitgrow #WateringWisdom #PhilodendronMicans (If you have other tips or adjustments to let him thrive, Im all ears!)

Hey πŸ‘‹ water from the top but make sure he drains really well and don't allow him to sit in water as these guys can get root rot pretty bad :(
Also they do well when they have a moss pole to climb πŸ™‚ he will love it, trust me!
@ravioliApproved you are very welcome 🌻
@sunflowerlover1 hey! Back because I had another question about watering, hope you don’t mind! My strawberry shake prefers filtered water to tap, which is what I was using for this guy originally. Should I switch Micah over to filtered water as well?
Hey πŸ‘‹πŸΎ @ravioliApproved
I do not mind at all ☺️
I'm gonna say yes!
Filtered water takes out all the yuckies (chlorine fluoride etc.) that are in water so it would only be beneficial to our plants, we like it and so do they πŸ™‚
@sunflowerlover1 so, recommended to water all plants with filtered water(unless I know my tap has a filter)?
@ravioliApproved indoor plants seem to do better with filtered water. But I'm sure they would be okay either way. Think of it like expensive toilet paper vs cheap. They both do the job but ones a little softer. Up to you in the end πŸ™‚
I personally have tried to use filtered as much as possible but it isn't always possible for me so I have used tap and my plants were fine ☺️
