What's the best way to get your african violet to flower
I have had this African Violet for about a year it was a one leaf cutting its never flowered and it's in a chunky soil mix and in a self watering pot and it's under a grow light for 12 hours, about 2 feet away from the grow light
8ft to light, direct
3โ pot without drainage
Last watered 6 days ago
African violets like to be snug in their pots before they bloom. The rule of thumb in picking a pot is that it should be 1/3 the size of the leaf spread. If the pot is too big it won't bloom until it grows to produce that ratio in size. African violet root balls are small in relationship to the size of their leaf spread. This causes many people to place them in larger pots than they need. You can downsize your pot or wait till it grows some. Since it's a 3 inch pot, it should get there within the next few months. Good luck.
