What are these?
The Internet says corms, but they're not under the
soil
and coming directly from the original stem. They look interesting!

Yep, those are corms! Theyβre coming in a little high, but they tend to originate from the rhizome, not just the root system. Congratulations, you have little babies! Keep them connected to the mother plant for a while to get more Frydeks :)
