Spider plant growing a mushroom??
Anyone know what’s going on here? I noticed this mushroom growing out of my spider plant.
It looks like you’re keeping it indoors. It’s a very full plant, so it’s probably a lack of airflow. The soil is likely staying wet for a long time, too. To prevent mold/mushrooms on my indoor plants, I top the soil with zeolite or orchid bark. No matter where I keep plants inside, I never get enough airflow to prevent mold. Anyway, get rid of the mushroom. You don’t want mushroom spores floating around indoors, and it will cause more mushrooms to sprout. Fungi above the soil isn’t helping anything
@SantinoBalotta It just means that the soil is rich in organic matter. They won't hurt your plant but you might want to make sure that you're letting your soil dry out a little more in between waterings. Standard is to water when the top couple of inches of soil is dry. Then watering it thoroughly until next time. ☺️👍
