Crocodile Fern Advice

I went on week and a half trip and my partner, unknowingly, watered my plants right after I did. Cue the poor baby.

I’ve never had root rot…from a video about limp/dark roots…it LOOKS like it. But then maybe that’s just how rhizoids look?

If it is, is this salvageable? This is even after I’ve rinsed all the dirt off (tried). The leaves were starting to yellow from the base and pull off easily.

TIA!

Update: roots smell earthy and are actually pretty springy - don’t seem to pull out that easily…so maybe just letting them air out?
2ft to light, indirect
6” pot with drainage

If the roots aren’t mushy and pulling off easily, I would let them dry out then back in a pot. Your plant still looks pretty healthy 🤞🏻
I can’t tell with the dirt but as long as it doesn’t smell and the roots aren’t mushy it should be fine
@debbiedo as we do on Instagram, only the best is seen 😂 this is half of the collateral. The more mature leaves seem to be troopers. Thank you! 🤞🏼 would you suggest the same soil it was in once they’ve both dried? It has some perlite in it, which I don’t have on hand.
@LydiaConroy I couldn’t quite get the dirt to yield to my spraying hahaha. This is what was left after the water started to run clean.

Thank you! I’ll let it breathe.
@Rina yes, if there’s no sign of rot, it should be fine to use the same soil.
