Episcia Cleopatra not looking too good…
hi everyone!! i have a 4” cleopatra that i got at the same time as my mother. hers seems to be thriving while mine’s leaves are crusting up a bit and just doesn’t seem to be happy. her leaves are turning brown.
i water her about once a week with fertilizer and have her on the bottom of a 3-tiered plant stand, the top having 3 grow lights to hang over each tier. what am i doing wrong?

Hope this helps! Watering once a week is usually fine, but if the leaves are browning and crusting up, it could be getting too much fertilizer. Cutting back to fertilizing every two to three weeks might make a difference. Also, check if the soil is drying out too fast or staying damp for too long. If it’s drying too quickly, the plant may need more frequent watering. If it’s staying wet, root issues could be developing.
Air circulation and humidity could also play a role. If the surrounding air is dry or stagnant, your plant might not be happy. A small fan nearby or a pebble tray with water can help. Temperature differences might be another factor. If your mother’s plant is in a different location with more stable conditions, that could explain why hers is doing better.
