Harry is not well guys!

#FlamingSwordBromeliad I don’t know what I have been doing wrong but since I received the plant most leaves have been browning! I already trimmed a couple of leaves
2ft to light, direct
4” pot without drainage
Last watered 7 months ago
@AliveMymumrose Unfortunately after they flower they die off . but don’t get rid of it you should if not already have pups forming at the base .
I am a newbie and have some of these on the way to me. The care instructions say To care for a Vriesea bromeliad, provide bright, indirect light and high humidity. Water weekly by filling the central cup with filtered or rainwater, and mist the leaves. Use a fast-draining soil mix, like an orchid mix with potting soil, and keep temperatures consistently warm. After the flower fades, cut the stalk and wait for pups to appear for propagation.
Just curious, did you water the central cup?
@BlossomLady You have received the correct information from the growers though I watered the cup and lost some of the leaves to a fungus right below it . It got much better once I started bottom watering when it was completely dry.
Good to know! I hope you have pups that are growing. These are so beautiful
@ILoveMyPlants thank you so much!!
