Fungus Gnats!

I'm wondering if I should remove the lower leaves of Figaro Newton to assist with the top soil drying out.

Hi Empress and Kelly
The ultimate fungus gnats guide at this link should help answer your question, all the best πŸ‘

Sorry I can’t help bc I, too, have a HORRIBLE infestation of fungus gnats. I hope someone knowledgeable comes along to save Sir Newton πŸ’œπŸŒ±
I have so many sticky traps in my plants that I accidentally bump into them sometimes- those bad boys are STICKY! ☺️ And I feel like my kittens chasing around these boogers and squishing them. Thank you so much for the info @Seymour and @Carley . Good luck, @CosmicEmpress !
@RefreshingPuka Kelly, I am biased as I like sundews, butterworts, and even predatory mites and nematodes to assist in eliminating fungus gnats. I managed to win the last war and I have sundews on guard in case they try to return. But really overwatering is often the common cause of an increase in fungus gnat issues. All the best, I posted about them some time ago. @CosmicEmpress
@Seymour oh I love that idea. As much as I hate fungus gnats, I really hate sticky traps. I try to squish any victims I see stuck to put them out of their misery. I don’t imagine that they’ll enjoy being eaten much better, but at least it’s a quicker death. I’m stealing that amazing meme ☺️
