How do you care for these things?!

Bought a lipstick plant. I didnโ€™t have a planter big enough for it and it was not doing well in the plastic it came home in. I separated it into two small pots and it looked so much better- I thought it would thrive. Both pots are now brittle and dying. I am so sad. I water based off app recommendations & they are both near windows but not bright full direct light. Someone help please๐Ÿฅฒ

Pot too deep. The medium is staying too wet for too long . Needs medium that doesnโ€™t hold water as much and a more shallow pot . A 6โ€ terracotta would do it good.
Ditto to what Avalone @Hoyaobsessed) said. Iโ€™d also suggest checking the soil before watering (that is if youโ€™re not already doing that), regardless of what the app says; itโ€™s wrong a lot of times because it canโ€™t possibly know what your homeโ€™s environment is like, which absolutely impacts a watering schedule. You could also try bottom watering, if you havenโ€™t before. That way the plant drinks up what it needs rather than being forced to guzzle and then marinate in whatโ€™s poured into it. Just a couple ideas for you to consider. Good luck! Oh, and welcome to Greg! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜ƒ
