Please help 😒

My reverted white knight philodendron was growing so fast I decided to propagate him and sealed both cut ends with honey. It’s been three weeks and the mother plant has stopped growing all together (but hasn’t died) and the propagated part has not rooted in water at all. What did I do wrong and can I fix it? He was growing a new leaf every month prior.
1ft to light, indirect
6” pot with drainage
Last watered 3 weeks ago
@YoungClusia23 If snipping off a prop was the only thing that changed over the last few weeks, I would hazard a guess that maybe he got a little bit of a shock. Did you use sterilized tools to make the cut? Even if you did, it’s still a β€œwound,” so he might have panicked that something was eating him and stopped the growth pattern. Once he feels safe again I bet he will start growing again. This may sound a little nuts, but I always talk to my plants, and especially when I’m about to prune them. Soothing things. Like, β€œyou are such a good plant. I’m just going to snip this little bit, and I’m so excited it’s going to be a new plant. It’ll hurt for a bit but you are strong and you’ll be okay!” 🀭

I would just leave him be for now while he recuperates. My philo props (of the non-heredeceum variety) always seem to take ages to put out roots, so just keep being patient. And if you have any pothos cuttings, add one to the prop water. They release tons of their natural rooting hormone which helps other cuttings root. 🩢🌿
@DreamMachine awww I love that! I try talking to him and see if it helps 😭 I cut my jade pothos and put one in with the water propagated part. Let’s hope both parts grow soon 🀞thank you for your advice!
@YoungClusia23 my pleasure! I hope they do too ☺️🀞🏼
