What’s up with my thyme

I also have a lemon lime thyme that was overwintered outside (in WA. Very odd winter, never really froze over) and it honestly seemed like it was thriving even then until very recently??? The bottoms are suddenly yellowing/browning, it’s thinning over timell and bolting very early.

Is anyone a pro on growing herbs outdoors? I’m wondering if it’s just getting choked and wants a bigger pot upgrade or if there’s something else at play that I’mjust not familiar with.

Thanks! #Thyme #Herbs #OutdoorGrowing #help #gardening
@Stephazar I am definitely NOT an herb expert, but I wonder if it’s drying out more quickly now that temps are going up?
@debbiedo well, i know they originate from the Mediterranean like most herbs and don’t need too much water or rich soil… and this is a pretty hardy variety, so I decided to just go for it and try and tear it out of the pot and into a bigger one cause nothing was making sense since it’s been raining more too. And… this is what I found. 🀣 it felt like one solid piece of wood… 🫣
@Stephazar I saw this and was about to scream " it DESPERATELY needs a repot" but I think you already did that. Make sure it isn't two large, too much space can be bad.
@dinosgoroarr it started out as such a small plant. I had no idea how prolific of a grower it really was. I don’t know what I’m going to do if it fills out this much larger pot. I don’t need THAT much thyme! πŸ˜‚
