@justaplantsgirl itβs been five days
@justaplantsgirl I have two, but they are both in separate bags and they have been in their bags for the exact same time, and itβs only the one that has those spots. If that makes sense
@justaplantsgirl if it was mold what would I do about it? Or is there nothing I can really do?
@justaplantsgirl Yes, thank you!
@LikelyChaya33 the advice from @justaplantsgirl seems like a good idea. Probably little something was on the paper towel in the one bag, causing something unwanted to grow π¦
@LikelyChaya33 Before you change the paper towel and bag spray it with some hydrogen peroxide if it's mold that will kill it. π
@justaplantsgirl no it was not
@LikelyChaya33 Not necessary. Just spray some on it. Or dab some on with a cotton ball. I'm not 100% sold on it being mold though. It looks more like a bruise. Is it soft in that spot?
@princesspitstop no it was still firm
@LikelyChaya33 It's about to sprout. I changed my mind. I wouldn't mess with it too much. You can change the paper towel and put into a different bag after that just let it do its thing. It can't be too bad if it's sprouting. Besides if I'm not mistaken the bean will split open and the two sides will fall off leaving the plant to come up from the middle.
@LikelyChaya33 Sorry I canβt help with this, but @princesspitstop has you covered! ππ
STOP!!! Don't do anything to her she's already sprouting!!!!
Wrap her in another moist paper towels and tuck her back in there!!!!
The pink is totally normal. They get pink if they are exposed to too much light or are stressed. Just don't put her in the sun.
The little bit of mold is also pretty normal, you just need to put a clean damp paper towel around her.
Keep in mind damp does not mean wet. When prepping the paper towel wring it out and then wrap the bean. Anytime they start getting a little mold, that's why, it's just a bit too damp. You caught it so early that the bean will be fine. She simply needs a clean towel.
However, the embryonic root did get a little damaged at the tip. That is her radicle and always grows downward into the soil.
After that her embriotic shoot will grown leaves in the opposite direction.
Hopefully, since it's just the tip of the embriotic root she will still be able to sprout those leaves and be successful.
I would continue with your bean because everything else looks great!!!
Now, that embriotic root turns into her taproot. You want that to be good and strong before moving to soil. You want it about 1-2 inches long. The 2 inch mark is always best because then your little bitty bean will be nice and strong to handle her transition.
You are doing so good!!! π©·
My favorite thing ever growing thing from seed. The best feeling in the world!

I was going to say not to mess with it, but Shannon @SuperbRaspfern the plant goddess explained it better than I ever could! π
