new growth turning brown/black :(
i have this gorgeous satin pothos and this new growth is starting to turn black and brown. is this possible root rot? #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy
Hi, @hannahmay! Good news: I don’t think it’s root rot because the blackened parts are crispy and not mushy. I can’t tell if that’s an unfurled leaf or not.. but that can often be caused by low humidity or water getting trapped inside an unfurled leaf. Make sure you don’t overwater, just in case! To make sure it’s not root rot, feel the healthy leaves. Are they starting to feel sad and limp? That can be proof of root rot. If it does have root rot, pothos are easy to propagate from any node on the stem.
@UberCoccoon22 Thank you so much Annie!! The healthy leaves feel firm and great! I’ll wait longer this time to water again! I do have a humidifier running, so i’m hoping that’s not the issue.
@hannahmay hi agree with @UberCoccoon22 and my new ones are doing the same thing but I just took the out of water prop and into soil.
I’m just letting the soil get all the way dry before watering again. I also placed it under a grow like . 👌🏽
