Pothos propagation Q
Hello! I am propagating 3 cutting from a pothos plant. They all look similar to the picture. My questions:
1) is this enough of a root to transfer them to dirt?
2) how do I bury them? Do I cover part of the original vine, Or do I lay it flat and only bury the new roots?
3) should I plant all 3 together in one pot or separate them?
Thanks in advance!! #pothos

@HealthyRedsky86 the roots look okay but personally, Iβd give them more time to develop into thicker, stronger roots like these ones in my photos. Pothos can grow in water so you arenβt hurting anything. I just find that my cuttings do better in soil when they are thicker and longer. The photos are satin pothos cuttings Iβve been rooting so I can send to a fellow gregger that asked if Iβd share some.
@HealthyRedsky86 sorry to answer your other questions, you plant them together or separately. That is your choice. As far as burying them, you want to use a pot slightly bigger than the root ball so Iβd say 3 to 4 inch pot to start until the plant gets fully established. Fill the pot 1/2 way with soil, place the cuttings in the pot and bury the roots with soil till the pot is filled a few inches from the top. Slap the sides of your pot or use a chopstick to remove any air pockets and water thoroughly. You want the crown of the plant or leaves only 1-2 inches from the top of the pot. As the plant grows, the roots will grow down into the soil. Here are some photos of the various Pothos cuttings I recently planted. Hopefully it helps you visualize what I said above. Let me know if you have more questions. Good luck!
