Hi, if you haven’t see any of my million plant questions yet, I’m Lyra, I have mostly succulents and a few non succulent plants. I’m wondering just for fun what was/is your most high maintenance plant, and what was/is your lowest maintenance plant.

I’m also looking for some low maintenance succulents to consider getting for my birthday! Any suggestions for low maintenance -hopefully maybe flowering, preferably without death bloom, if it gets the death bloom let me know- succulents.

But as I asked before, what was/is your most and least maintenance plants? Or what your favorite plant you have, or best accomplishment you’ve made so far?
The most difficult plants I’ve ever taken care of have been butterfly plants. They are very fussy and if you move them a couple feet away from their previous spot, they will leave will fall off and die. They can’t take too much sun. They can’t take too much shade.
All succulents flower, some just do it more frequently than others. The only ones I know of that are monocarpic (produce death blooms) are aeoniums and some kalanchoe. As far as succulents go, for some reason I've always struggled finding the sweet spot for my elephant bushes. And for indoor succulents, echeveria never seems to do as well as they do outdoors where I live (San Francisco). In the winter they always end up with powdery mildew because the humidity is so high inside my house. High maintenance vs low maintenance really depends on the conditions where you'll be keeping the plant. Some succulents are super low maintenance as long as you have a west or south-facing window for them and the air in your space is dry.
For relatively low maintenance succulents, I like some of the Haworthias. I’ve had a couple of varieties bloom.
