Would you repot this?

#Philodendron it’s in the costa farm wicking water pot in their mossy substrate and has a couple leaves buried. Seems to be doing great? Maybe?
2ft to light, indirect

Hi Staci!

Personally, if the plant is happy I leaf it be. No need to fix something that is working.

There are many people that have substrates they love or pots they love, etc. who prefer to repot so they know their plant is potted they way they prefer so you absolutely can if you aren't comfortable with what it's in now.
@TheMightyOddish I agree with @PlantMompy. If it’s doing good there is no need to upset the apple cart. Having said that, I would try to unbury the covered leaves so they don’t rot when you water. I tend to repot most of my new plants within a few weeks of receiving them. I just find that plants coming from nurseries or stores are so overwatered that they need a fresh start and in fresh soil. If they have fungus gnats, new soil also gets rid of them too!. I like to mix my own soil specifically for what the plant needs so that they have the best chance to thrive. Best of luck
Yes there are gnats
If there are gnats you can decide if you would rather repot or treat them.

You'll want to treat the soil because that is where the eggs and larvae are, then try to catch the adults.

You can treat the soil by adding hydrogen peroxide or mosquito bits to your water. Then you can catch adults by using carnivorous plants or yellow sticky traps.

You want the soil to dry out on top so be sure to water in the reservoir and not into the soil. Maybe even waiting a day or two after it empties before filling it again.
