Are these mealy bugs?

If so HALP! What do I do? How did it happen inside? #hurricanefern #FernFriends
2ft to light, indirect
6” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
They could be springtails too.
First is springtails and second is mealy bugs
Springtails tend to eat fungus and mold but don’t harm the plant itself.
@I_AM_HOUSEPLANT they look more like springtails but how do I get rid of them?
Most of the time you’re overwatering it your plant make sure the soil is dry before watering then they should go away
If you spray them with normal house plant pest spray, it will just force them to go under the soil they’ll still be there though and come back up in a few weeks. from my experience
You can also make a trap to help get the bugs away faster:

1. Find a small cup or pot with no drainage.

2. Fill the container with charcoal and a few pieces of rice on top.

3. Place the container near the springtails and add a very tiny amount of water.

I’ve never done this myself but I’ve seen online that it’s the best way to do it.
@I_AM_HOUSEPLANT if they are mealy bugs am I screwed?
@FirstCeratiola nope! You can take o mixture of rubbing alcohol and water and ether spray it off with a spray bottle or use a cotton ball.οΏΌ
If you have neem oil on hand you can use that too
