Monstera
So I have a monstera and I try to avoid touching it and my kid touching it. But how toxic is it really? If you touch it and wash your hands.. is it ok? Obviously noone should eat it but just worry if perhaps I should move it to another room??

The "toxic' issue is the leaves and stems if eaten or ingested. The smaller you/pet are the more dangerous, although not toxic as there's nothing to "poison" you.
The plant tissues have oxalate crystals (the same stuff kidney stones are made of) that when eaten, will scratch and irritate the mouth, throat, and digestive tract, causing pain, inflammation, and discomfort. If eaten in large amounts it can require immediate medical attention.
This is true of a lot aroids and common houseplants. They aren't poisonous, but harmful.
