Succulents usually push out roots, potted. Give her time. They like the soil to dry out in between watering. They like the warm temperature and sunlight.
Pings are carnivorous plants that are notorious gnatcatchers. They can only be watered with distilled or rainwater using the tray or bottom watering methods.

Unlike succulents, they like to be sitting in water. Potting them on top of the soil is usually the way to go, as their roots are shallow and are mainly used for anchoring and absorbing water.
