What should I do?

So my I finally was able to take a pic of the mealybugs but I also think it might have some thrip in the soil I'm thinking of just repotting with new soil but Phil is producing so much growth I don't wanna mess it up I'm treating the bug problem but I don't see any progress with the thrips. What should I do to fix this #philodendron

I expect the thrips you’re seeing in the soil are actually spring tails, thrips tend to hang around on the leaves. I remember early on I thought spring tails were thrips too because they were on the stems near the base of the plant. A veerry basic way to tell pests from beneficial bugs is that pests tend to be a lot slower moving than beneficial bugs and you’ll find the beneficial bugs in the wrong spot. So I also had soil mites inside the cover pot that I thought was spider mites!

Those are definitely mealy bugs thiugh!

I got rid of them by mixing some 70% rubbing alcohol with water in a 1/3 mixture and spraying the plant thoroughly. Also putting the alcohol on a qtip and directly placing it on the bugs will kill them.

You can try sprinkling some ground cinnamon on the soil as a safe way to deter them as well.
