Do albos grow this slowly?

I got a monstera albo cutting but I’m not sure if it’s growing okay or not. I have it in the bathroom (the most indirect sunlight we get throughout the whole house 😭) and I only water when the soil is dry. Is it usually this much of a slow grower? I see a new leaf, but I haven’t it seen emerge or grow since I’ve gotten it.
ours took a loooooong time (like 3 months) to put out any new growth at all. it was using most of its energy developing a root system. 3-4 months after we bought the cutting we got one new leaf and now we have two more with one on the way in a span of 3 months since that first leaf!
@SnappyGreenice i also recommend laying the node on top of the soil as they're prone to root rot! you'll also be able to watch for growth◡̈
@Kitschy what makes the albo beautiful also hinders it’s growth. Any variegation in the leaves is leaf real estate that is not engaging in photosynthesis. It’s a handicap. Considering how expensive these are, I recommend measuring the light to ensure you’re getting at least 400 Foot candles. These plants need sufficient light not only to grow but also to prevent it from reverting back to a non variegated form. You can get a light meter for $12 on Amazon. GE makes grow lights that are like $15 and you can put them in any normal lamp. Perhaps giving it its own light source would be prudent given its special needs and it being a prize :)
