Looking Sad

#Dracaena my guy has been looking sad and losing leaves. The app gave tips to repot it into a terracotta pot. Any other tips? Do you think he needs more water? Photo 1 is how happy and full he used to be and photo 2 is him sad

Hi Ann! Your plant card info says the pot doesn't have drainage, is that the case? You definitely want a pot with drainage holes. My guess based on the photos and the fact your pot doesn't have drainage is that he's suffering from overwatering. What does the soil feel like right before you water?
Greg suggests a terracotta pot because they're porous and allow the soil to dry out faster between waterings. Non-porous pots like plastic hold onto moisture much longer, which can cause issues for a dragon tree. They don't like to sit in damp soil for too long, so you should only water when the soil has completely dried out. They also prefer bright, indirect light (too much direct sun can burn their leaves).
Thanks! I'll move him a little farther away. I have a soil tester and the soil is usually dry. I work on getting a new pot
This looks like a Dracaena Marginata, which is commonly known as a dragon tree, but isn't the exact same as a true dragon tree.
@Catplantaddict that's helpful let me see if I can update that
Alright I updated the info and repotted in a pot with a terracotta inside and a drain hole. Hopefully this will be good
