Drying roots what do I do

Hi everyone I seem to have the roots of my plant looking like this. If I see this happening should I pull them out? What could be the reason?
1ft to light, direct
5โ€ pot without drainage
Last watered 2 years ago
Hi there! What you have pictured are actually the base of the leaves which can go brown from time to time for a few reasons. One could be that these are simply the oldest leaves and ready to come off, another could be that the plant had been overwatered and the base of the leaves stayed wet too long. Aside from these that were pulled off the plant looks perfectly healthy though. Spider plants can de a bit drought tolerant so if you suspect you overwatered it, I would let it dry out well before your next watering!
