How long to quarantine plants?

how long should i quarantine new plants? does the size of the plant change the quarantine time?
&&
how many feet away can other plants be quarantined in the same space without transferring issues?

I quarantine for at least 2 weeks. I figure something will emerge by then, hopefully 😝🤞. Size shouldn’t matter although I guess a very large plant could be hiding more intruders. Ideally you would want them quarantined in separate rooms. That’s not always possible especially if all you have is a room or two with windows. I’ve got plants in all my rooms except one bathroom with not the best light. So I will quarantine there, and I’ll quarantine in the garage when it’s not cold, there are a couple windows out there. Otherwise put the new guys as far away from the existing plants as you can. A lot of people will proactively spray new plants with neem oil or insecticidal soap. Some even change out the soil immediately. I typically just give the leaves a good rinse with sink sprayer or if you have a detachable shower head in a bathroom that’s good too. The thing I’m most careful about is I take care of my existing plants (watering, trimming, cleaning up) before I touch the new ones. I don’t want to transfer anything. I don’t share watering bowls or towels or anything until well after the quarantine is over. And I always wash my hands after handling the newbies. Hope that helps!
