What is this fungus? And how should I treat it? It popped...
20ft to light, indirect
7β pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
Hi Carol! That looks like yellow houseplant mushroom. They are there because the soil is moist for extended period of time. Itβs harmless to the plant and you can just dig it out of the soil. Then just let the soil dry out a bit more between watering. I never get it when I put my plants outdoors, but inside my plants stay wet longer and I always get them. I hope this helps
@SillyPlantGirl Iβm just curious, wound it be fine if I left it in there? I have some and Linda like the way they look. Hopefully this isnβt a dumb question lol
No not a dumb question! Yes Yes, you can safely leave the mushrooms in the pot. They will not damage your spider plant, but do know they are toxic if eaten by humans or pets. They actually help break down organic materials in the soil. They will eventually dry up, turn brown, and shrivel on their own.
@SillyPlantGirl ok thank you!
