Mine does something similar. It hadn’t hurt the plant but it just affects the look of it. Not sure what causes it may be a fungal disease or scale. It’s possible it could sunburn but im thinking it may be something else. I’ll post photos of mine in a sec. The reason I don’t think it’s sunburn is because mine does a similar thing even in a screened in porch which would be filtered light.
