Added a new plant & it broke the app

I recently added a new plant to the app and when I went to save the additional details, it gave an error message saying “changes could not be published” or something along those lines.

After which, I am no longer able to view or edit the details for any of my previous existing plants. The plant name will darken briefly when clicked, but nothing happens. I waited a few hours in case it was a server issue, but there was no change.

I tried deleting the newly added plant, but the problem continued. Though now the details of the newly added plant are all blank and the save, back, and delete plant buttons become unresponsive making the app soft lock.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

That happens all the time. I’ve never been able to add a new plant to this app. What I do is put in the genus and look for something that sort of looks like your plant then in the little “person” name that Greg gives your plant I put in the real name. It’s just one of several problems that haven’t been worked out yet. Fortunately, the social network is really cool and you’ll meet lots of good friends.

Send an email there for help. I contacted them because when typing in this chat the window doesn’t expand so I can’t see what I’m typing. I was told there were only 3 people managing the app and they are quite busy so not enough manpower. They were still helpful but from what I gathered they will help you now if they can.
@BEsucculent I used to have some issues about a year ago when I first started using the app. The problem is this time around it’s stopped me from being able to edit the details for any of my other existing plants 😅
@Sonja thank you. Will do. As for not being able to see what you’re typing, I had to add some extra couple lines at the bottom of the post using the return button on the keyboard. Maybe that will work for you.
@CoolUsername oh my goodness!! Adding the return lines worked! I can’t believe that I can finally see what I’m typing! Thank you so much for that awesome tip! Even the app support couldn’t help me with this. Shouldn’t even have to do this but I’m so happy there is an easy work around!
