I have 4 FLFs & this is the first time I have seen this. ...

South facing, about 3 ft from window. Hasn’t shown any other signs of distress. #FiddleLeafFig #help
This is likely edema from inconsistent watering- it happened to my new growth, despite me being super careful! When the leaves harden, you can hardly tell, but it is a bit distressing to see. I wish I knew the answer in how to avoid it.
@MidwestGreens @MamaLinne This is 100% edema. Because FLF don’t guttate like a lot of our tropical plants do, there is no where for the water to go if they take up too much water, so the cells burst instead. I would recommend either going longer between watering if your soil has enough drainage and aeration, or, you might need to change the soil to a chunkier mix if it’s holding on to too much moisture for too long.
@MidwestGreens @MamaLinne @DreamMachine Waiting longer in between watering is exactly how I cured mine from the edema. Also FLF tip, every time you water it shake the stem back and forth mimicking a mild wind blowing. It will strengthen the stem and in turn the whole plant. πŸ˜πŸ‘
