Did it actually germinate that fast?

I planted some thyme seeds on Saturday, and today is Tuesday. I have them under a grow light with some clear wrap over them to keep humidity in. Everything says that they should take about 14 days to germinate, but it’s only been 3. Could they have really sprouted that fast, or are these something else?

One potential explanation I have is that they were stored in a non-climate-controlled closet that gets very warm and humid
@Schmuck Hi Logan! I had some tomatoes that germinated in 2 days this spring! I couldn’t believe it! So I have seen it happen with my own eyes! It is very much possible! Good Luck πŸͺ΄πŸŒΌ
I also had some quick seeds in the past:) congratulations on having baby thyme!
My tigerellas also sprout in 3-4 days. Then there are the latecomers about like ten days later. Started germinating 1 Aug and this is now 27 Aug.

Mind you i'm in a tropical lowland climate so that's probably why
My housemaid also sowed some seeds fron a Japanese tomato when we came back from holidays in hokkaido. These are 2 months of progress
