What is my Orchid telling me?
#PhalaenopsisOrchid my orchid had a beautiful bloom after one year and a half of receiving it, and it is now growing some new leaves/ withering some old leaves and creating new roots at the back. It looks like it wants to be placed onto a vertical surface even though I only ever had it on a pot! Any tips here? It seems healthy I just want to give it the best possible enviroment!

Orchid blooms are the best!! I love the colors on yours🥰 Growing new leaves is normal after a blooming season. And old leaves may be withering because they’re older, or possibly if watering is off. New roots coming out is excellent, it usually means it’s happy 😀. Not sure what you mean by it wants to be on a vertical surface. Straight up & down is normal. Do you mean it’s growing to one side? That’s normal too. I have several orchids that despite me repotting to make them go up straight, they grow to one side 😑. Many people say it’s growing towards the light but I rotate regularly or use a grow light so that’s not always the answer 🤪. For mine I just let them do their thing as long as the roots are anchored and healthy 🙌
@AliveMymumrose I’ll add too that orchids need a lot of airflow so keeping it in a close fit decorative pot may lead to root issues down the road. Ideally you want space between the nursery pot and decorative pot so air gets there and moisture doesn’t accumulate.
