Star Jasmine Transplant
#StarJasmine hey all! Just planted this Jasmine a week ago and she is clearly not very happy with me. Iโm seeing mixed reviews online regarding the frequency of watering during the first few weeks post transfer. I came here to confirm my suspicion that she is currently looking UNDERwatered, right? For added context, leaves are crispy/not soggy & flowers are currently drooping and brown. Looking forward to hearing any tips to help her thrive in her new home :)

Hi Erin, welcome to Greg!
Unless her roots were really damaged during the transplant, I highly doubt it's a root rot/over watering situation. It's almost impossible to over water something in the ground.
Based on your observations I agree that it's likely more of an underwatering and/or adjustment period situation.

@PlantMompy amazing! I love this reframe of it being impossible to overwater something in the ground. Iโll use that mantra as I get these new plants established! Thanks so much.
Could be a bit of transplant shock, and crispy leaves and browning unfurled blooms can definitely mean under watering. Maybe water a broader area around the plant, might benefit from fertilization as well. I would feel the leaves every day for a bit and water if the edges start feeling hard or crisp. My star jasmine is indoors in a bonsai pot, but she will start dropping baby leaves or flowers if she goes more than a day without water after the soil dries out.
@smushface she went like 3 days too long without water last week and dropped some flowers and a leaf or two.
@smushface suuuuper helpful!! Thank you. Iโve upped the watering schedule and she is doing better already :)
