Not a happy Ti
About half of the leaves have begun to turn brown and incredibly dry and crispy. Iβve been following the directions for watering. This guy doesnβt get any direct sunlight. Is that the problem maybe?
No, the problem isn't lack of direct sunlight. This looks more like stress from improper watering, and like @SouthKauai mentioned, too low humidity may also be playing a role.
When you say you're following directions for watering, what exactly does that look like? It's possible the soil was allowed to dry out too much somewhere along the line, causing it to become hydrophobic. When that happens, even proper watering can still lead to an underwatered plant because the soil isn't retaining enough moisture. Since these are tropical plants that like high humidity, you may need to get a humidifier if your space has below average humidity (less than 50%).
Do you water it with tap water? These guys are very sensitive to the salts and chemicals found in tap water, which can also cause dry, crispy tips.
