I trim my raspberries and blackberries. Trimming the leaves back is no problem- especially if they’re too crowded. If it’s a new cane, you’ll want to let it grow as tall as you want them to be. Once you cut the top- that is the height they will remain and eventually they’ll start pushing branches outwards.
