Hey guys just got this guy. I plan to bonsai it any tips ...

#ElephantTree
I’m working with my Jade right now. Start getting a general idea of shape first. Go nice and slow. I’ve been doing a few cuts (2 sometimes 3) every couple of weeks. I make sure I’m getting new growth before I cut again because I don’t want to stress them too much. I would also start with the tall growth and keep my cuts under 1/3 of the length of the stem. Hope that helps. Good luck!
Is this your 1st attempt at doing bonsai? First would be to cut away any dead leaves and branches. 2nd would be to identify where the front view will be. There are a lot of YouTube videos to teach you the art of bonsai. I did it for a little while and then lost interest because it is such a lengthy process. And there’s only minimal pruning and wiring needing done on a new specimen. Then it’s just a long waiting process for the next phase. I ended up with 30-40 trees/junipers all over my house and in the back yard that I could NOT do anything with LOL. So I switched to houseplants and kept buying more and more πŸ˜‚
