How do propagate an aloe Vera plant from a whole leaf?

Here is what I pulled off the internet. It sounds right so I hope it helps!
β€œFrom leaf cuttings: Using a clean, sharp knife or scissors, cut a healthy leaf from near the base of the plant, close to the stem, and remove any lower leaves. Cut the leaf into 3–4 pieces, making sure each section has a growth node. Place the cut end of the leaf on a dry paper towel out of the sun and allow it to dry and form a callus for a day or two. If the leaf starts to rot, throw it away and start again. Once the leaf has scabbed over, plant the callused end in damp, well-draining potting mix and wait for it to root. You can also try applying aloe vera gel to the cuttings to help them grow longer roots.”
@JauntyGrandfir I’m going to try this method. Thank you
@PureZelkova I hope you have success! I’m trying to propagate a succulent right now and it’s a bit frustrating? Lol
@JauntyGrandfir I’m new to succulents too. Learning as I go.
